Hello there…

I am Princess-Butter, a name coined by my American lab colleagues and friends, and has stuck ever since. I have been in SoCal since I moved to the US for my post-grad and I love it here!

I call Pune my home since the last decade and a bit more, and have lived in North, West and Central India before that.

I am as normal and as nuttie as they come. I have zero control over my jibber-jabbering tongue, appetite, emotions, tears, love for animals and shopping spirit. I can be equal parts nice and mean, but I prefer sticking with the former.

I love getting to know new people and learning about their lives, which resulted in me spending hours reading blogs of unknown people about lives, loves, beauty, food, and everything else under the sun. Finally the blogging bug bit me too, so here I am…

Welcome to my blog. I hope a splash of my life will color your world…..:)

  1. Hi princess,

I’m an h4 visa wife living in chula vista, San Diego. I too am an mechanical engineer but unlike you, I had to sit at home and waste my education bcoz of this h4 visa status.

I came across ur blog while I was browsing through IHM. I was pretty excited to know that someone who shares my values and beliefs is also living close by. I have many desi friends here but all they want to talk about is the cooking, kids classes or their husbands. When I try to talk about the plight of indian woman in USA or even the current affairs I’m met with derision or plain ignorance.

I would like to be in touch with you and share some tit bits on the NRI women’s life.

    • Hi Deepu! Welcome to my blog and hi-five for being a fellow mechie!
I know a lot of women who are here on H4 visa and for them its ‘majja ni life’ situation. Then, I know some women who curse their H4 status and are itching to go out and do something. They are doing internships, even if unpaid, giving exams for professional licenses, trying to live a life beyond kitchen and husbands. You can guess the type I am friends with and admire ;).
I would love to keep in touch with you and hear your point of view about NRI women. Please do share.

  2. Hey Princess Butter,

We’re soon nearing the end of this year and stepping onto 2015. A lot happened across the blogosphere this year; I was amused to catch up on so many new events when I opened my Reader after a long hibernation. The beginning of this year and the last saw a bunch of us bloggers participating in a month long marathon. It was fun, crazy, exciting, hectic and absolutely insane. I thought we must continue with the tradition in the upcoming year as well. Would you like to join the madness this time too? Please drop me an email if you are interested at kamathseema1@gmail.com

  3. Hello PB,
Long time reader of your blog. Do you think it’s possible to share the password for your latest (protected) blog ? Also, not to invade your privacy and all that, but a general post on your Anuroop experiences would be good read !
